Portal-esque first-person puzzler Q.U.B.E. available now

Even now, four years after the release of Portal, few studios have ventured into the relatively unexplored first-person puzzle subgenre. Luckily for those of us yearning for more, Indie Fund recipient Toxic Games has crashed the party with their new title, Q.U.B.E. In addition to gameplay that relies on logic, physics and platforming, the game boasts a similar minimalist visual aesthetic to Portal‘s Aperture Science Laboratories — or even Capcom’s GameCube shooter P.N.03.

The title went on sale earlier this week for $14.99, but if you’re looking for a deal or aren’t entirely sold on the concept alone head over to Steam. In addition to having Q.U.B.E. on sale for $12.47 Valve’s digital platform has a demo of the title available now. Having just completed the trial myself, I’m pleased and am looking forward to what else the game has to offer.
