PopCap just announced their new small games label called 4th & Battery a couple of days ago. This experimental venture gives the company designers and developers free reign to create smaller, simpler games without the constraints of normal game publishing. The company is named after the cross streets where PopCap is located, in Seattle. With this announcement came a mention of a new game from the label, Unpleasant Horse. It seems Apple has already rejected the title for its mature content.

Unpleasant Horse sounded fantastic. PopCap said that in it you would be jumping on other horses, sending things through meat grinders and other such nonsense. It turns out that this was judged by Apple to be unsuitable for the original rating certificate it was submitted under. It is expected that 4th & Battery will resubmit the game under a different rating heading.

According to Games Industry, tweets from the company’s official account, since deleted, first expressed disbelief at Apple’s rejection of the title. Since then they have mentioned resubmission. Good. I really want to play this game.
