How to switch up your Trainer’s style in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Grab some seasonal duds and accessories right away

As Trainers start up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, they may want to change up their outfit from whatever seasonal attire it sets for them. Well, picking your clothes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is pretty easy.

Choosing which outfit you wear might seem mandated by the game, at first. But the option is actually available right away. Just hit Left on the D-pad to pull up the clothes menu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

From here, you can select which of the four outfit options you’d like to don for your journey. This can be swapped at any time and doesn’t seem to have any gameplay impact, just a cosmetic swap.

The four options correlate to the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. From shorts to a spiffy jacket, there are a few options.

While there are only four outfit options, there are menus for accessorizing too. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has extra clothes tabs for several other kinds of wear. They are:

  • Legwear
  • Footwear
  • Gloves
  • Bags
  • School Hat
  • Eyewear
  • Rotom Phone

So from your hat to your gloves and on to your phone case, there are some options for making your Trainer stand out. This will be important when you go to meet up with your friends for multiplayer, so make sure to pick out some good outfits.

While it looks like you acquire cosmetic options for these accessories as you go through the game, the Rotom Phone cases have an extra special reward for longtime Pokemon fans. A certain NPC in Mesagoza’s Central Plaza, just in front of the stairs, will give you new Rotom Phone cases based on previous game save data.

So if you have data from Pokemon Legends: ArceusBrilliant DiamondShining PearlSword and Shield, or the Let’s Go games, you can nab a new look for your Rotom Phone there.
