Pokemon Rumble U set for eShop release in NA and Europe

Wii U’s first exclusive Pokemon game

Prior conversations about Pokemon Rumble U have come with the caveat that the Wii U title had, at that point, only been confirmed for release in Japan. Nintendo has since announced that it’s coming to the eShop on August 15 in Europe and August 29 in North America. Near-field-communication toys for everyone!

Speaking of which, there will be 18 figures at launch, sold exclusively by GameStop in North America and priced at $3.99 each. Oh, right in the wallet. Ouch. I mean, these things are technically optional, but you try explaining that to a child that’s really latched onto the concept of “collecting.” Actually, let’s not limit that to kids; we’ve all been there at one point.

Pokemon Rumble U has been priced at $17.99. An interesting strategy, making this a digital-only release while the toys are, by the very nature, something you have to run out and pick up.
