Pokemon Rumble Rush stealth launches on mobile

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have stealth released a brand new entry in the Pokemon Rumble series. Coming to mobile devices, Rumble Rush is a free-to-play title that features real-time battles against various Pokemon critters. The twist with this entry is that players will be sending their monsters to uncharted islands to collect or defeat different foes. While not a multiplayer title, discovering an island before other players will grant you the ability to name it.

In a confusing state of affairs, the game is currently available in Australia, but not the rest of the world. It should be releasing sometime today on Android for other regions and iOS in the near future. The Pokemon Company didn’t give any specific time frame, but clearly, the game is ready for release. You’ll just have to be patient if you want to play.

If you’re wondering why the Rumble spin-off series was chosen for a mobile game, this has apparently been in the works for a few years now. Nintendo announced that a free-to-play adaptation of Pokemon Rumble would be headed to mobile under the name of PokeLand in 2017. It seemed to have a different take than what Rush has ended up being, going for something akin to the 3DS entry that released four years ago. Without much fanfare, the game is available, which could be a good or bad thing.
