Niantic is unleashing one of the first real content updates for Pokemon Go out into the world today on Android and iOS.
Rather than take away or curb features that existed at launch, the patch is adding in a brand new “Buddy System” that lets you choose one character to walk around and earn candy with. Other ancillary additions are abound too, like a more responsive UI, fixes for egg hatching bugs, better performance, and added Pokemon Go Plus accessory support.
Niantic is also stalwart in its attempt to quash “botters and scrapers,” as well as rooted or jailbroken devices.
