“Pokemon but with guns” Palworld is coming January 2024

As part of Summer Game Fest 2023, Pocketpair has shown off more of Palworld, a “multi-player, open world, survival, crafting game,” that is definitely looking just like “Pokemon with guns.” Just look at that art style. Beyond that, it’s been revealed that it will be released into Early Access in January 2024.

Along with this is a new trailer that hammers home how much Pokemon Palworld is going for. There’s fantasy, adventure, children, and then someone pulls out a minigun. I really can’t say I don’t see the appeal, but it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow at its intentionally derivative nature.

Palworld will be coming to PC via Early Access sometime in January 2024.
