Poison Pink: best ambigious title for a strategy RPG ever

Recommended Videos

Surely there’s a Japanese porn director groaning somewhere over the fact that this title was used for a video game rather than his privately envisioned opus about an innocent young girl with a deadly vagina, but that’s too bad for him. Next time! Poison Pink is a Banpresto PS2 strategy title recently released in Japan in which you play a non-linear story with features such as demon-collection, where captured critters can fight in your party. Neat!

Here’s a bit about the story, for those of you who don’t speak Japanese:

“A leader of knights named Orifen is set to be wed to Princess Runarshe of the Saint Baldamian empire. However, on the day of their marriage, she disappears. At the same time, a hellish stone structure known as Besek appears at the outskirts of the kingdom. It’s suspected that the Princess has been spirited away by demons so Orifen lurks into Besek “The Hell Prison” in an effort to rescue his betrothed. The King of Saint Baldamian also invites others to investigate Besek and perhaps discover the mysteries within. Along with Orifen, a magic user named Tage and her pet wolf answer the call as well as a cleric named Hersh who’s been sent by the Church to spelunk the depths of Besek.”

Pre-game impressions seem mixed from the forums I’ve read, but you can always import the title and see for yourself. I like the art style a lot. The word is that a stateside release is unlikely, but you can never be too sure. I still envy Japan and all their exclusive cool game content that I’ll never get to play because its too kooky for the US. We want weird games too, Japan. Some of us.

[Thanks Justin]
