Palworld dating sim might be the worst April Fool's joke this year

Pocketpair is teasing a Palworld dating sim that doesn’t need to happen

I've never wanted anything less

Pocketpair has left a lot of people confused today by sharing something that, at first glance, is straight out of the depths of hell and needs to never happen – a Palworld dating sim. Of course, after taking a moment to think it through, it’s already April Fool’s Day in Japan.

Getting ahead of the rest of the world, Pocketpair took to Discord and social media to share the following video that you’re either going to want to see come to fruition or will make you feel dirty in 100 different ways, and none of them good.

Possibly the worst part about this entire video is the fact that they start the whole thing off with a teaser about what’s inside the World Tree, only for it to be a school filled with “cute Pals.” Fans are desperate to know what’s special about that huge tree, but this was never on the list of possibilities.

The (thankfully) make-believe dating sim bears the phrase “more than just Pals” and even writing that and thinking of the implications gives me the ick. I won’t even say anything about the creepy Black Marketeer.

Of course, there are some players who would love the chance to romance Lovander or take Chillet out for a night on the town. If you ask me, those players need to take an ice-cold shower, but I guess to each their own.

A few Pals were given short, questionable descriptions, such as:

  • Katress: “A transfer student with mysterious powers…”
  • Lovander: “A flirty senpai who wants all the boys…”

It’s not even just the Pals. Zoe is right there as a possible romance, although she’s apparently only “interested in Grizzbolt.” Considering the implications of that sentence in a dating sim setting, I’m horrified. Then again, I guess it makes sense with the background of interbreeding between species that was revealed in the lost journals of the tower bosses

There’s even a clip of a ‘player’ stroking Chillet somewhere that’s apparently…very sensitive.

Honestly, someone out there is going to make this even if Pocketpair won’t, and I can’t wait to stay a million miles away from it.
