PlayStation VR should not be used by children under 12, according to a recent update to the PlayStation 4’s health and safety notices.

Redditer KGizzly (via Engadget) spotted the notice had been added as part of the 3.5 fireware update.

Vive, while not carrying an explicit age restriction, suggests the product is “not designed to be used by children” and requests that owners “do not leave the product within the reach of young children or allow them to use of play with it” because “they can hurt themselves or others.”

The Oculus Rift also restricts use by children under 13 and recommends adult supervision for children aged 13+. It also warns that the product may “negatively impact hand-eye coordination, balance, and multi-tasking ability” so remember that the next time sometimes accuses you of being drunk.
