Sony has confirmed that it will reveal the final launch date of the PlayStation Vita at the Tokyo Game Show. As revealed yesterday, the company will not be releasing the system to North America or Europe before Christmas as originally hoped.

It’s currently expected that Japan will get the system before 2011 ends, while we’ll have to wait a few months at least. Sony boss Kaz Hirai has said that this is to ensure a strong launch library which, if true, is a very respectable reason.

SCEJ president Hiroshi Kawano has said that the date is “finalized”, so look forward to that leaking ahead of the show!
