PlayStation Network update: Piyotama and a bunch of trailers

It’s not that we don’t love puzzle games or anything, but today’s PlayStation Network postings for today are incredibly weak compared to this week’s Xbox Live offerings. One new puzzle game and a handful of trailers are not going to hold up to this week’s Stranglehold and Eternal Sonata demos… that is, unless you have a thing for fruity flying chickens.

Piyotama (‘piyo’ is a Japanese onomatopoeia for bird cheeping, and ‘tama’ is a round object) is a color-matching puzzle game featuring chickens and eggs and Japanese silliness. Lining up four same-colored eggs in a row causes the eggs to hatch, launching cute little fruit-looking birds/chickens into the sky. I had heard enough good things about the Japanese PlayStation Network release of Piyotama that I was trying to find a way to ‘work the system’ and download it from Japan, but now it looks like I don’t have to.

Other goodies include wallpapers, Heavenly Sword “Making Of” No. 1, Heavenly Sword Anime No. 1, and a Turok E3 trailer, as well as high-definition trailers for Fred Claus, SuperBad, and 10,000 B.C.
