Dying Light making money
SuperData has expounded on its general reporting of digital sales in the United States videogame industry — collectively $1.1 billion worth in the month of January — with specific details on the console-side of the digital market.
Here’s the breakdown of the $263 million made in worldwide digital console sales in January.
You’ll note that zombies are still a decent key to financial success, as folks bought the living dead out of Dying Light and Resident Evil HD Remastered. Incidentally, I’ve been playing the heck out of Resident Evil 4 HD, except on PC, lately and I was briefly mistakenly excited that people were still buying it in droves.
Of these top 10 titles, 63% of that digital revenue came from PlayStation 3 and 4 sales, compared to 37% from Xbox 360 and One. In fact, PlayStation 4 alone accounted for 43% of that revenue.
You might also note that those top 10 sellers made a combined $133 million, more than half the $263 million total made in worldwide digital console sales in January.
