Playpen Studios announces ‘Nightclub DJ’ game, Skillz

Recommended Videos

I’ve been known to enjoy the nightlife, and I sure do love me some peripherals. So I raise one eyebrow in the direction of Skillz, the Playpen Studios developed “original Nightclub DJ game.”

The title is said to use a unique turntable controller to mix and scratch, in this music rhythm game set to hit PC and “multiple console platforms” in 2008. The game will feature a full single-player story, two-player battles, and a freestyle mix mode. The game will also feature an online community where you can share your funky, fresh, dope, or “whatever the kids are calling it these days” tracks with the world.

No word on whether or not Skillz will use licensed music, or if we’ll be mixing “Chopsticks” with other public domain favorites. We’re also not sure what “multiple console platforms” means, but given the fact that a pack of blindfolded monkeys can port PC titles to the Xbox 360, Microsoft’s console sounds like a sure bet.
