Platinum: PS3’s a sports car, 360’s a car everyone drives

The console wars have seen many contrasts and comparisons over the years, so why not have some more? Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba has likened the PS3 and Xbox 360 to different types of cars, giving the fanboys something else to wave their dicks over. According to Inaba, the PS3 is a sports car, while the 360 is a vehicle for the everyman.

“The PS3 is kind of like a sports car that’s very high-performance and specific in its usage, whereas the 360 is more like a car that everybody’s driving,” he said. “It doesn’t have the same range as a sports car, but it has more versatility.”

Platinum is using the PS3 as the lead platform for Vanquish in order to avoid another Bayonetta situation. Given my time with the PS3 version of the game, the effort has definitely paid off. Still, what do you reckon about Inaba’s comparison? Do you think the PS3 is a sports car while the 360 is more something that Joe Lunchbox would drive to work in? Discuss!
