Plants vs. Zombies hits the DS with new modes

You know how every digital device you own has some kind of weather application on it? You can check the weather on your PC, phone, tablet, TV, Blu-ray player and others. I think it should be the same way with Plants vs. Zombies. PopCap’s undead take on tower defense is awesome, and I want it on everything.

It’s now available on the Nintendo DS today, with an MSRP of $19.95. It has the adventure, survival and puzzle modes of the PC game, but also adds four exclusive modes: shooter-like Air Raid, Home Run Derby, mic-using Heat Wave, and BOMB All Together. The game has been reworked to use both screens of the DS, and also includes an ad-hoc wireless battle mode.

DSi owners can get down on the DSiWare version, which PopCap says is coming in the next several weeks. It will have the four bonus modes of the DS version plus one more called Zombie Trap.
