Plant Brainrot Simulator Mutations Tier List

Best mutations for progression and bosses.

In this Plant Brainrot Simulator Mutations guide I’ll cover both how they work as well as the best mutations for different purposes. They largely depend on whether you want better wave clear or better world boss runs. Here’s my Plant Brainrot Simulator Mutations tier list.

You cannot stack Mutations in Plant Brainrot Simulator so you want to go for the best ones. Currently, as you’ll see below, the best ones are Darkness for bosses and World Boss events and Bomb is best for wave clears and progression. I recommend you merge plants for weight first and then mutate since you don’t want to waste fruit on weaker plants. Merging is done by combining two of the same plant and only the same star plants can merge up to 5 stars increasing weight up to 201kg (More weight = more damage). Place Bomb on your highest DPS plant and then support it with Darkness. Here are the mutation breakdowns.

  • Plants can sometimes spawn with random mutations
  • Spam KG Fruit on the plant you want to place Bomb or Darkness on for more weight
  • More weight = more damage

S-Tier Mutations

S-Tier MutationEffectWhy S-Tier

Darkness Mutation
Attacks can knock enemies back• Currently, the highest damage multiplier along with the crowd control effect
 • The best mutation for clearing bosses and World Bosses
 • I recommend splitting your plants into just Darkness and Bomb plants

Bomb Mutation
Attacks become area-of-effect dealing damage to multiple enemies around the target • The best DPS for clearing waves due to massive AOE damage
 • The best mutation for progression

A-Tier Mutations

Venom Mutation
Attacks can slow enemies• The best stalling effect after Darkness
• That said it’s lower DPS

Frozen Mutation
Attacks can freeze enemies for a short duration• Less reliable CC effect than Venom but still good in a pinch
• CC effects are in general more important than better single-target DPS which is why Frozen is better than Flame

B-Tier Mutations

Flame Mutation
Attacks can burn enemies and deal extra damage• Great for beginners
• That said, CC/Stalling effects like knockbacks and slows are better than single-target damage
• Bomb outscales Flame for DPS
• That said Flame is slightly better against single targets like bosses and worldbosses though Darkness beats it there
