Pixart making more chips and sensors for the next Wii, more of the same coming

According to the DigiTimes, Pixart Imaging will begin “sampling” MEMS chips for the next Wii late this year. Pixart will also be expected to produce more infrared solutions for Nintendo, as the next console will be using the same infrared capabilities of the Wii.

In addition to being the supplier of sensor supplies for Nintendo, Pixart is most known for the brilliant movie, Toy Story. For those unaware, Toy Story is a delightful tale of adventure revolving around a ranch hand and a cowboy in Wyoming. Together, they fight crime and help to save a kidnapped girl’s life in Mexico.

If this report turns true, it’s interesting to note that Nintendo will continue moving in much the same direction with its next console. We’ve yet to hear any reports on graphical prowess, but we’re sure that Nintendo won’t fail to disappoint that core audience they care about so much.
