Pinkerton Road Kickstarter a success and it’s still going

Last weekend, adventure game legend Jane Jensen’s new studio, Pinkerton Road, surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $300,000. There are still eleven days left in the campaign, so every investment on top of the $300K will go towards making their first game, Moebius, even better. On top of the supernatural adventure, Kickstarter backers dropping $50+ will receive a second mystery game, which Jane Jensen announced on Friday.

I was glad to see that out of the three proposed projects, Moebius was the one that got the fans most excited and ultimately got selected as Pinkerton Road’s first title. Malachi Rector is a Manhattan antiquities dealer who travels all over the world hunting down artifacts. He gets hired by a billionaire to investigate a series of strange events, starting with the murder of a beautiful young woman in Venice. Thus begins a metaphysical thriller in the vein of Gabriel Knight. It sounds like quite the treat.

Along with the second, secret game, there have been other additions to the Kickstarter pledge tiers. $50 pledges will get Gabriel Knight ebooks, for $200 you can get a Gabriel Knight design bible and for $500 you can get a signed, one-of-a-kind Sins of the Father production sketch. Lots of goodies for GK fans. To top it all off, there will be a 24 hour Gabriel Knight marathon starting at 19:00 GMT on May 11 and a Q&A session with Jane Jensen and Robert Holmes at 19:00 GMT on May 13.
