Phoenix Wright manga licensed by Del-Ray — no objections here

Japanator’s friend Gia has brought us word from the San Diego Comic Convention that Del-Ray manga has licensed the promotional Phoenix Wright manga that came out in Japan. According to Gia, their plan is to release the first volume around the same time as the next game comes out — which is only a scant two months or so away.

Capcom is really looking to push the ancillary markets here in the U.S., it seems. First, ADV licensed the Devil May Cry anime after a scant two episodes were released (and weren’t that good, in my opinion), and now the Phoenix Wright manga, something that I’ve only considered sanctioned fanfiction, is being taken rather seriously.

There’s been a strong following of the chapters, though, as they’ve been floating around on Court Records for a while. So, you can either read them there, even though it’s a lot more illegal now to do so, or, you can just wait for Japanator to do a review when it comes out.
