Phantom Pain, Destiny, & A Total Eclipse of Battlefield 4

The Destructoid Show really needs you tonight

Holy moly, you guys, it’s been a long week, and we had lots of news out of GDC to cover on today’s Destructoid Show.

For starters, EA showed off seventeen full minutes of Battlefield 4, which looks very pretty, albeit exactly how you’d expect the follow-up to Battlefield 3 to look. Plus, hey, Bonnie Tyler’s playing in it, so there’s that. Meanwhile, Bungie still doesn’t wanna show us what Destiny looks like in action, but they did talk about the inspirations for it, and put up a nice little video showing character models in motion. Also there’s a big frog. They had some awards ceremonies at GDC, because people seem to enjoy that sort of thing, and Journey managed to clobber the competition. Eidos Montreal put up a video of the guy from Thief putting out a candle, and there’s some fuss over the use of a “focus” mechanic, which may or may not even be a thing.

Finally, Holy Nanomachines! Metal Gear Solid V has been revealed, and it’ll be two games; Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain. The Fox Engine looks incredible, but apparently David Hayter hasn’t been asked back to voice Snake. SNAKE?! SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!
