Nintendo is attempting to meet demand with the Switch, and folks all over the world are feeling the impact of the shortages. That includes Nintendo’s own home base of Japan.

According to multiple reports, people over in Japan are still lining up near daily to get their hands on the console. In some cases there’s hundreds of people lining up, only for them to find out there there’s only roughly 40 units in total at a particular store.

Nintendo was really smart to go with the portable angle here, as mobile gaming has been on the meteoric rise in Japan for the past five years or so. You don’t see these kinds of lines over there for the Xbox!
