PC players ‘need a controller’ for Assassin’s Creed III

Due to a recent Gamespy interview, we’ve learned from Assassin’s Creed III‘s creative director Alex Hutchinson that if you want to play the game on PC, you “should” be using a controller. What does that even mean? Well for starters, he’s saying that Ubisoft won’t be focusing on keyboard support.

Alex goes on to state “I don’t see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin’s Creed, you have a controller.” As someone who did play through Assassin’s Creed I on PC with a 360 controller, I’m wondering why Ubisoft would even say something like this in the first place. I guess this is what they meant by adding “value” to their PC games.

If you think you’re the first person to get upset over this — you aren’t! After all, how could you feel safe at home at night without knowing there’s a petition for you to sign for proper PC support?
