One of the most intimidating aspects of Path of Exile is the Skill Tree. In total, there are over 1,325 skills on the Skill Tree by default. You can even increase this number by finding certain items in PoE. However, despite all the options, you only accrue about 120 Skill Points over the course of your character. Therefore, it’s very important you properly plan out your skill tree.
Fortunately, if you make a mistake, there are ways to fix it. While you can’t instantly respec and reset the whole Skill Tree, there are ways to undo chosen Skills and get your Skill Points back.

How to plan your build using the Path of Exile Skill Tree

Once you’ve picked out a build, it’s time to start planning it out. Unfortunately, there are not many options in-game to plan out your build. Thankfully, there’s a third-party tool called Path of Building that allows you to plan out everything for your build. This includes your Skill Tree, gear, Ascendancy points—literally everything! It will also tell you your stats based on the build you have planned out, so you can have a good idea of how much damage you should be doing and how much health you should have.

How to reset Skill Points on the PoE Skill Tree
Accidentally choosing the wrong skill on your Skill Tree can be frustrating. Thankfully, there are ways to reset Skill Points on your Skill Tree. If you open up your Skill Tree by hitting the ‘P’ key by default, you will see a spot at the top right that shows your Refund Points. Each skill you want to remove will cost one Refund Point. Also, you can only refund skills at the end of your tree. For example, you can’t just remove a skill in the middle of your tree.
If you need more Refund Points, you can get some via various side quests in all ten acts of the campaign. Furthermore, there is a consumable currency called Orb of Regret. Each Orb of Regret that you consume will give you one Refund Point. Orb of Regrets will drop naturally throughout playing Path of Exile. If you are familiar with trading, you can also trade with other players to obtain Orb of Regrets.
