I’ve only had about three chances to play Patapon at industry events over the past few months, and all three of those times I’ve found myself totally entranced by the game. I think my fascination has something to do with the foul mouths of the Patapon tribe. They insult everything, insult each other, and even insult their god — which would be you, the player.
The latest instance of entrancement was at CES 2008; I came upon a PSP with the Patapon demo running sometime in the afternoon, and the next thing I knew the convention center was closing down. Whoops! Imagine my surprise/excitement when Nick told us that the game would be released next month for $19.99. This game is so worth $19.99.
The PlayStation Blog plans to regularly update between now and the release date of February 26th, and they kick this updating off with details on a demo that will include a demo-only exclusive item.
Pre-order the game at GameStop to get a demo that enables you to get the The Spear of Protection, a rare pon-weapon. Oooh! You’ll be able to use your save data from the demo in the full game when it’s released, and you can start off where the demo ended.
If I could tell Destructoid’s readers what to do, I’d tell you to buy Patapon. But I can’t. Do you have plans to pick this up?
