Particle Mace devs get down and dirty on design and development

Get to know the people who make great videogames

[Sup Holmes is a weekly talk show for people that make great videogames. It airs live every Sunday at 4pm EST on Youtube, and can be found in Podcast form on Libsyn and iTunes.]

It’s a white out blizzard right now in the Northeastern United States. The roads are not safe. Visibility is down to ten feet in some places. If you’re stuck at home today, why not catch up on Sup Holmes? We’ve got an episode here with Andy Wallace, designer of Extreme Exorcism and creator of Particle Mace, that is sure to warm your heart.

Andy is probably old enough to be my son, which made it all the more surprising to hear how deeply he appreciates games that are about the same age as I am. We talked about how learning about every aspect of game development is important to anyone who wants to work in the industry, how rapid concept generation and subsequent self criticism is crucial to his process, the methods to best insert joy into people’s brains, and a lot more.

Thanks again to Andy for being on the program, and be sure to tune in today when we welcome Gordon Midwood of Drive!Drive!Drive! back to the show. Gordon is hilarious. We’re starting up the show right here at 4pm EST, so don’t be late!
