PaRappa creator reveals music game for iPhone, iPod

PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsura has announced his next project, an iPhone and iPod touch title called WINtA (or “War is Not The Answer”). The title is being developed with Triangle Studios pro bono for OneBigGame; the proceeds will go towards children’s charities.

While details of the project haven’t officially been announced, Gamesindustry.biz caught a demo of the project at a recent games conference in the Netherlands. The demo showed off a game in which players tapped the screen along to music, in this case, the music of Marvin Gaye. (Mind blown.)

“I am a big believer in creative collaborations and I am really pleased with the result that is WINtA,” Masaya Matsuura is quoted as saying in a press release. “Furthermore, further down the line WINtA will also very much involve music artists, VJs and gamers around the world in this project. I can’t wait to see the creative vision that we have for WINtA finally become a reality later this year.”

All he had to say was Marvin Gaye. I’m sold.
