White Wolf Publishing has found a new home under Paradox Interactive.

The company, known for role-playing games like Vampire: The Masquerade, had been with EVE Online maker CCP Games since 2006. For years, CCP was working on adapting World of Darkness into a massively multiplayer online game, but development on the project ceased last year.

White Wolf was sold in an all-cash deal and will be run as an “independent entity with a dedicated team” lead by Tobias Sjögren, the former VP of business development at Paradox. “If it makes sense [Paradox] might publish some [White Wolf] stuff,” said VP of acquisition Shams Jorjani. “But our business will stay the same publishing great strategy, management, and RPG games.”

For now, while we’re still waiting to hear more specifics, this seems like positive news. More opportunities for these properties, certainly. “We have great respect for White Wolf’s gaming worlds and see big opportunities for their expansion in the future under our new subsidiary,” said Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester. I’m sure fans have special requests. Let’s start with this:
