Palworld: Twitter Paldeck number discrepancy explained

Explained might be the wrong word

Every weekend since June 2023, the team at Pocketpair has been sharing a Paldeck showcase video for Pals on Twitter and YouTube. These videos serve to show off some of the attacks of the Pals, their design, and how they move around the world.

However, since the release of Palworld on January 19, the comments on these videos have been filled with people asking one thing: why do the video’s numbers never match up with the number of the Pals in the in-game Paldeck?

Well, I’ve been keeping track of these videos since June (you can witness my love of data gathering below) and the numbers have never (with the exception of, for some reason, Elizabee at number 52) matched up. This is backed up by a disclaimer in the description for each video on YouTube which states “Paldeck’s No. does not reflect the in-game number of the Pal”. however, a lot of people seem to overlook this.

In a world filled with conspiracies and codes, I couldn’t just take these numbers at face value, so I collected all the numbers and tried to find some kind of secret code. If you’re thinking the same thing, let me tell you there is no secret hidden code here. No matter how I spun the numbers, what I subtracted from what or added to where; nothing legible came from my experiments.

No one, perhaps other than Pocketpair themselves, seems to know why these numbers don’t line up.

Anyway, here’s the full list of showcase videos up to now:
