Overwatch Season 2 mid-season update release countdown

The mid-season update for the second season will go live on Tuesday, May 12. The launch will be simultaneous across all platforms, and the following countdown will expire once the update goes live.

Hurry Up!

The countdown is based on the following timings.

  • 11am PT
  • 1pm CT
  • 2pm ET
  • 6pm UTC
  • 7pm BST

This is the usual schedule that Blizzard follows when it comes to major in-game updates. Any change prior to launch will be duly updated in this guide. The pre-download is also available, so you can install the patch before it actually goes live.

What to expect from the Season 2 mid-season update in Overwatch

Season 2 started with a bang after the introduction of new cosmetics, a new hero called Sierra, and more. The mid-season update won’t be as flashy, but there should be a major balance patch. I am expecting it to have an impact on the ongoing meta. There will be more cosmetics to obtain for Ana as she will get a fresh Mythic-rarity skin.

The mid-season update should also bring an Anniversary event based on the latest social media rumors. However, Blizzard has kept things under wraps for now, and the only option is to patiently wait for the patch to go live in two days from now.
