Original Sonic the Hedgehog out now for Android

Well, I’ve got the Labyrinth Zone theme stuck in my head again

As promised, Sonic the Hedgehog ($2.99/£1.99/€2.69) is out now for Android devices via Google Play. Widescreen support at 60 frames per second, a remastered soundtrack, leaderboards, achievements, Time Attack mode, and playable Knuckles and Tails are in for this port. iPhone and iPad owners will be able to access to these features through a free update to the iOS version of Sonic, so there’s no need to feel neglected.

Will I download this for a mobile device? Not likely. I’m too accustomed to playing  with a gamepad. That said, someone’s going to — someone who might be familiar with the iconic character but not the classic games — and that’s, in its own way, neat to think about. Kids these days.
