Well, it’s not just an Xbox 360. It’s a premium gaming PC with an integrated Xbox 360 ‘slim’ inside. Oh, and did I mention that the Xbox 360 is liquid cooled? Origin calls it the Big O, and says that it gives gamers the best of both worlds. Look at the picture above. Check out the bottom left corner of the massive case. You’ll see an Xbox 360 tray. Seriously.
Running right alongside the Xbox 360 innards is Intel Xeon 5680 processors, each with six cores. You get two of them in the ultimate configuration. This rig can have up to 24GB of RAM, though the standard 12 should be enough. There’s quad SLI EVGA GTX 580 FTW for graphics, also liquid cooled. Add in an ass-ton of storage and Blu-ray and you have a machine that is going to make your Xbox 360 look like crap. It’s still in there though should you want to leave the wonder of high end PC gaming for a bit. The whole thing ships in “Origin Wooden Crate Armor” for only $16,669. Or you can get the cheap-ass one for $7,799.
Origin says that they’ll be showing this beast off at Creative’s booth next week during CES. I plan to swing by and check it out.
