Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle?

A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we’ll all get to play it this year.
