OnLive launching in the UK on September 22

The cloud gaming service OnLive will be made available for gamers in the UK on September 22 making its debut at the Eurogamer Expo. Strategy Informer reports that the service will be fully integrated with the existing North American service which should make teaming up with friends already using OnLive relatively painless.

Eurogamer themselves have announced that they’ll be giving away thousands of OnLive micro-consoles to attendees of their Eurogamer Expo running from September 22-25. OnLive have also stated their ambition to spread the service out to the rest of Europe after a successful UK launch.

There will be around 100 “Top Tier” titles available at the time as well as the “OnLive Playback Bundle,” a subscription service allowing unlimited access to more than 70 games such as Homefront, F.E.A.R 3 and Borderlands. While there’s still a lot of skepticism surrounding the service, especially in a country where the quality of broadband connections overall can be well below OnLive’s recommended speed, it’s exciting to see such a strong launch planned.
