Oni officially revealed for Super Street Fighter IV: AE

Recommended Videos

Street Fighter fans have known about Oni for a while now. In fact, Dtoid is one of the few places you can still see some of the initially leaked videos of Oni and Evil Ryu in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, as Capcom ripped down most of those vids from Youtube. Maybe they’ll be less harsh about that Oni footage from here on out, as the character was officially announced in Japan today.

We still don’t know exactly who Oni is, which is definitely part of the fun here. Chances are that he’s just another version of Akuma, but my (not so) secret hope is that he’s actually a Dark Hadou-infused variant of Panthro, and that Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is really just there to lead into the ultimate cross over game — Capcom Vs. Rankin Bass.

We have another video of Oni after the jump, and more (including a move list) in the gallery.
