On XBLA this week: Aqua and Metal Slug XX

Wednesday will see the release of two Xbox LIVE Arcade games. One has been on the cards for quite some time now, the other, not so much. That’d be Metal Slug XX (1200 Microsoft Points) and Aqua (800 MSP).

Having never gotten around to picking up Metal Slug XX for PSP, I can’t say how it performs compared to prior installments. It looks as if they really stepped up the insanity, though, and that’s what I like to see. Ostriches with mounted machine guns? Yup, you’re playing a Metal Slug game.

Aqua, on the other hand, has been kept on the hush-hush until only recently. It’s a water-based shooter that looks promising enough. Still, it’s times like these I’m glad demos are a requirement for XBLA games.
