Old Man Tony Hawk making another game with Activision

46-year old skateboardman Anthony Frank Hawk tweeted this today: “I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game). I think fans of THPS series will be hyped.

I’ve looked at that tweet at least 10 times since starting to write this post and just now did I notice that “along with a new mobile game” addendum that was snuck in there. It doesn’t matter, really. It’s hard to muster feelings for things involving Activision and a long-run-into-the-ground series.

Neversoft is dead.

Yes, Mr. Hawk, Graffiti Mode was one of my favorite videogame pastimes in the year 2000, on account of the robots not killing us all, but I’ve moved on. Splatoon is looking to be my new color-based territory grabber. I haven’t set foot on a skateboard in a decade. Kids are taking “selfies,” smoking drugs, “planking,” playing Minecraft and doing hand stuff these days, not skateboarding. Who are you trying to fool?
