I’m now picturing a not-too-far-fetched future in which Resident Evil 2‘s Mr. X has wormed his way into all our games like he’s a beefier, sharper-dressed Freddy Krueger. This is indeed a disturbing universe.

It all starts here with the Tyrant’s air-dropped arrival in PUBG Mobile. You hear that?

The limited-time event mode Zombie: Survive Till Dawn brings zombies, lickers, G1, and Mr. X himself to Erangel. If you manage to take these persistent buggers down without being shot in the back, you’ll earn items. As an extra touch, this crossover also includes Resident Evil 2 outfits and theme music.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I played a round of PUBG and I honestly may never touch the game again, but I’d mess with this mode out of sheer morbid curiosity. Shame it’s restricted to the mobile version.
