Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. continues in its quest to bring the classic Oddworld adventure series to Switch. As previously noted by the ESRB back in January, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is next in line for the Nintendo platform, and will launch digitally in May.

Munch’s Oddysee is the second release in the “Oddworld Quintology,” beginning with 1997 PlayStation release Abe’s Oddysee. When the Vykkers start harvesting hapless Gabbits for the eggs and other organs, one such Gabbit – the titular Munch – decides its time to fight back. Utilising a rusted wheelchair, and accompanied by original hero Abe, Munch embarks upon a quest to take down the Vykkers’ airborne fortress and liberate his species from their clutches.

Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee for Nintendo Switch will feature HD visuals and 60 FPS gameplay, but otherwise seems to be a direct port of the original 2001 release. Munch’s Oddysee will launch digitally on May 14, with a physical release to follow later in the year.

In the meantime, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD is available now on Nintendo Switch.
