Oblivion Remastered Fin Gleam Helm location

Believe me, its usefulness will make up for its design.

Even if not the best pick for life or death battles later on, very few helmets in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered can match the utility of the Fin Gleam Helm, which comes with the godsent Water Breathing and Nighteye combo.

But what if I told you it is possible to get the item immediately after starting your adventure and leaving the sewers? Here’s where you can find and how to easily get the Fin Gleam Helm in Oblivion Remastered.

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered Fin Gleam Helm location

Like in the original Oblivion, you can get the Fin Gleam Helm in Oblivion Remastered by going to a small island located west of Anvil and into the Abecean Sea. Once there, the item can be found on the spot marked below, by a corpse at the bottom of the ocean.

  • The in-map location of the Fin Gleam Helm.
  • A zoon-in look at the location of the Fin Gleam Helm.

To make sure you can spot and reach the helmet quickly, make sure to both change your camera to first-person mode (by pressing R3 or MB3 a few times) and to dive into the sea for an extra boost. Upon getting the helm, immediately open your inventory and equip it to avoid losing it by drowning. For those wondering, you can boost your swimming speed in Oblivion Remastered by enhancing your Speed stat.

If you’re having trouble spotting the helmet deep within the sea, using a Potion of Nighteye or the Nighteye spell can make things way easier. Khajiit characters will have the spell from the get-go and can use it a no Magika cost. You can also get a variant of it by becoming a vampire.

With a Mortar and Pestle, you can make a Potion of Nighteye in Oblivion Remastered by combining any of the following items after unlocking the ability to mix their extra properties (or effects). Upon being consumed, the potion will provide you with the effect for 15 seconds.

  • Blister Pod Cap (Third property)
  • Bonemeal (Fourth property)
  • Carrot (Second property)
  • Daedra Silk (Second property)
  • Daedroth Teeth (First property)
  • Lady’s Mantle Leaves (Third property)
  • Viper’s Bugloss Leaves (Second property)
  • Worm’s Head Cap (Second property)

Among the list, the Viper’s Bugloss Leaves and the Worm’s Head Cap are by far the easiest specialties to spot via their bright violet/purple colors. They are also the most common in the list. Keep in mind that you need to reach Alchemy level 25 to unlock the second property of the ingredients above. Reaching levels 50 and 75 will then unlock the remaining two.
