Now here’s an interesting little slice of news. I’m sure many of you are familiar with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Bethesda’s opus is still highly regarded for its ambition, scope and, of course, size. I find it ironic, then, that the engine that powered it, Gamebryo, has now been licensed for use on Nintendo’s Wii, famed for not being such a powerhouse.
Not to bash the little console that could, of course. I just find it funny that the engine that powered Oblivion is now hitting the Wii, and wonder what it will bring. It’s obvious we won’t see something as beautiful and huge as Oblivion, but hopefully it will bring some solid third party support. We can only patiently wait and see if Gamebryo bears fruit on Nintendo’s system.
