Obama, Palin, the Beastie Boys, and more in NBA Jam

An NBA Jam without hidden characters? Nonsense! The Wii version of NBA Jam, which hits stores today, continues the tradition Midway started back in 90s, with a number of familiar faces.

I’ve been playing the game for review, and I’ve already found three unlockable characters — MCA, Mike D, and Ad Rock of the Beastie Boys, who are playable as part of the NY Knicks. But ESPN has gotten the scoop on some political unlockables including: President Obama, Joe Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, John McCain, and Dick Cheney.

Characters can be unlocked by entering certain initials into the game before selecting your team, or entering a secret code at the game’s title screen. Want to know how to unlock the Beastie Boys? Follow the jump for what I guess you can consider a minor spoiler. (ESPN couldn’t get the details on how to unlock the Democrats and Republicans; let us know if you find out.)

NBA Jam is out in stores today; we’ll have our full review up later today.

Unlock the Beastie Boys:

On the game’s title screen, input the following code on your Wii Remote. You’ll hear a sound to know that it worked. When you go to select a team, press the “+” button for “More Teams.”
