Just in time for New York Comic-Con, Sega is revealing Captain America: Super Soldier for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, and Nintendo DS. The game will hit shelves in 2011.

The third-person Super Soldier will have Captain America facing off against Red Skull, engaging in a “free flow combat” system while tossing his iconic shield at foes from afar. The game is said to feature a “highly athletic combat system with fluid platforming and a highly tuned suit of shield attacks.”

Not just good for bashing up the baddies, the shield can also be used to solve puzzles and even scale walls.

The game’s story is being written by Christos Gage, the man responsible for Marvel’s Avenger: The Initiative, as well as a host of other titles including Iron Man, Civil War: House of M, and more. The story for the game is said to exist in the “same world” as the movie, which hits theaters next year.
