Nvidia offers the chance to win a Doom-inspired RTX 4090

Demon slaying not required.

Nvidia is quite forthcoming about its themed hardware products. In October, Team Green launched an Alan-Wake 2-themed graphics card in honor of the horror sequel’s release. Now it’s Doom‘s turn to get the RTX 4000 treatment.

If you want to get your hands on a 4090 GPU styled after id Software’s iconic shooter, Nvidia is giving you a few days to take part in a giveaway. In a recent post on Twitter, the tech giant has said it’s celebrating Doom‘s 30th year with a chance to win one of the most powerful pixel pushers in the land.

To enter, all you have to do is comment under the tweet with a couple of hashtags. The competition ends at 5 pm Pacific Daylight Time on December 18, so you have until next Monday. The winner will be announced on January 31.

As big as the BFG 9000

The graphics card itself is still the same $1,789 hardware that came out over a year ago. Just, now it has a custom Doom backplate. The image does look kinda cool, but you better be the kind of PC user who has a viewing window on their system. Not to mention the space to accommodate this beast.

Say what you will about the expense of the “Ada Lovelace” 4000 range, but Nvidia knows how to keep itself in the limelight with giveaways like this. While RTX 3000 graphics cards are still the preferred generation, according to Steam, the newer hardware is starting to make its way into gamer’s rigs.

Were I in the market for a new graphics card, the chance to win a free RTX 4090 is something I’d think twice about skipping over. If nothing else, it’ll keep me warm in the new year.
