Not April Fools’: Capcom is ‘aggressively’ doubling down on mobile, Mega Man cited

Also, Monster Hunter

Ha, today of all days, Capcom decided to share this news.

The company has announced that it is created a Mobile Business Division, which is going to use popular IP to push new mobile projects, much like Nintendo announced (though the latter has DeNA steering the ship). Brands such as Monster Hunter, Sengoku Basara, and yes, Mega Man have been named specifically. Yes that Mega Man. Four games will be released by the end of fiscal year 2017.

The publisher is no stranger to the mobile space, although nearly all of their efforts have been half-assed, including all of the mobile Mega Man cash grabs releases they’ve put out so far. It’s not like it can’t be done, shifting over and making good mobile games, but I don’t have much faith at the moment.
