Not a baby’s toy! NES Zapper turned into a lethal laser

Recommended Videos

Do you know why science is awesome? Because there’s always gotta be that one cat who looks at something that’s already pretty pimp and declares, “No, not pimp enough.” So he goes into his lab — undoubtedly stocked with beakers filled with indeterminate liquids and Tesla coils that serve no purpose other than to look really damn cool — and creates untold wonders while spitting in the face of The Almighty.

The techies at North Street Labs in Virginia absolutely love the NES Zapper, they just don’t love that it can’t actually kill anything. So they decided to install a laser module powerful enough to burn through walls. They explain in detail how to build your own “death ray,” peppering the text with science-y mumbo jumbo that I can’t be bothered to understand. That’s not the point. The point is that they turned a friggin’ Zapper into an actual zapper!

I’d love to see young Elijah Wood talk smack now. I’d lobotomize the little sh*t from 10 feet away.
