No, really: SpongeBob Drawn to Life coming to Nintendo DS

Tommorrow I will be attending a THQ Wii/DS event in New York City, and I have to admit I’m pretty excited. According to the invite, the list of games will include Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed, Battle of the Bands, Wall-E, Deadly Creatures, and … wait … what’s this? SpongeBob Drawn to Life? What in the world … ?

MTV’s Stephen Totilo has the scoop on the upcoming DS game which is exactly what it sounds like — last year’s popular Drawn to Life title with a dash of SponeBob Squarepants. The game is not being helmed by Drawn to Life‘s developer, 5th Cell, however. Totilo says the game will be developed by Alton, a Japanese developer which (according to the ever-reliable Wikipedia) worked on Home Alone for the Super Nintendo. What can go wrong?

More information on the game can be found over at MTV’s Multiplayer blog, and check back soon for some hot hands-on action.
