No, really: An Ong-Bak videogame is in the works

I don’t know how to react to the news that Studio HIVE has acquired the rights to make a multiplatform game based on the Ong-Bak series. They have a production team working on the project, due out later this year, right now. It’s happening.

Ong-Bak is well known as a powerful international martial arts brand,” says Sahamongkol Film International business development director Akarapol Techaratanaprasert. “We are very selective with our licensing partners and found in Studio HIVE the right partner to bring Ong-Bak to gaming platforms. “Their approach to tie in movie and game is the right way to create a perfect interactive entertainment.”

Yup, still don’t know how to react. I love me some Tony Jaa and think this could conceptually lend itself well to interactive entertainment. But it’s probably for the best that we reserve judgment for now.
