Assassin’s Creed Origins director Ashraf Ismail, in an interview Gaming Bolt, has stated that this year’s roof-running, throat-stabbing adventure won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Whilst it wouldn’t have been the first time the series had been on a Nintendo platform, with Assassin’s Creed 3 and Black Flag having seen Wii U versions and spin-offs of earlier titles reaching the Nintendo DS, there were hopes from some fans that the latest entry in the time-traveling series might have seen a release on the popular new console.

But Ismail dashed any hopes in the interview, stating: “We’re shipping on Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PC. There are no plans to release it on Switch.”

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be the tenth game for home consoles (Not including a whole host of handheld, mobile and real-time board game side-titles. Don’t at me.) It will be released on the above-mentioned platforms October 27.
