No Man’s Sky has gone gold, and thank goodness for that

With that, Hello Games is one step closer to getting No Man’s Sky out in August.

The long-awaited space exploration game has gone gold, meaning it’s ready for manufacturing, and the team’s unbridled joy in this celebratory photo (“four years of emotions”) was too good not to share.

That guy taking a big ol’ swig? That’s my guy right there. And not that I have any say in the matter whatsoever, but I hope Sean Murray sticks with the beard for a while longer.

The studio’s work isn’t done, but passing a major milestone like this has got to feel uplifting.
